Enhance your coin collection with this cast metal coin inspired by Fort Bowie National Historic Site. During the Civil War, military tokens became common due to the lack of regular civilian currency. These tokens were privately minted and could be exchanged for different goods and services. This souvenir coin is a reproduction of a token good for one drink at the Fort Bowie Post Trader store. The original token was brass and only one-quarter of a millimeter thick. Each replica coin is packaged in a resealable clamshell mounted on cardboard with educational details about the coin on the reverse.
